Overview
The paradox of Valley of Flowers is that you have to experience the rains to witness the flower blooms. So those of you who like adventure & rain, this is an ideal pick during monsoons in the Himalayas. Valley of Flowers is a National Park which lies in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, recognised by UNESCO. Ahead of Valley lies Henkund Sahib, a high altitude Gurudwara (Place of worship for the Sikh community). Hemkund Sahib is dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Guru & it houses a glacial lake surrounded by 7 peaks. Trekking to Valley of Flowers is a one of its kind experience during monsoons as you will catch sight of umpteen flowers, unique to this region. Badrinath dham will be open to visit during this season, so a trip to the revered temple will bring you a step closer to spirituality. Wind up your trip by the Ganges in Rishikesh.
